PCB To Inquire The Change In The Test Kit After Wasim Akram Questioned The Board

Earning a test cap is a dream of every young cricketer. Test cricket is the real test for any cricketer who wants to earn his place in the international arena. The national test cap is an honor for every cricketer and is a sign of utmost respect. Currently, Pakistan is playing against Ireland. This test marks the debut of the Irish team in test cricket. So far the Pakistani team has done a decent job under such rough weather conditions. They forced the Irish team for a follow-on after a great display of bowling. However, it was not the performance which caught the attention. It was the test kit which got the legend’s attention. Wasim Akram highlighted something which seemed pretty normal but carries a lot of weight. PCB to inquire the change in the test kit, however, we are yet to have an official statement from their side.

The test kit does not carry the green strips anymore, WHY?

Wasim tweeted a screenshot from the match and inquired PCB regarding the omission of green strips

To our surprise, PCB had no clue about the change in the kit

Now, this was quite a shock for all of us. The board should have an idea about the changes in the kit, after all, who get these things done if the board is unaware of such things.

The fans were angry on such a casual reply

and as usual, PCB was caught napping.

The green strips hold a very special value as the greats of the game have carried the colors on the field

The Great Imran Khan

The finest modern-day era batsman Pakistan has ever produced – Javed Miandad

The legendary ‘Zaheer Abbas’

The weapon of destruction, The two Ws.

Every legend has worn the green and yellow stripes with their white uniform. How can PCB miss that? Wasim Akram tweeted again regarding the matter.

Wasim gently replied to his own tweet and it makes sense. There is nothing wrong with rebranding your uniform but something which holds such strong values in the history of the game should have been made after consulting with some senior players. The green is our national color and represents us as a country. Well, we hope that PCB comes up with a sensible reason for omitting the color from the test kit.

Out Of Favor Fawad Alam Gets Dropped Again Putting Inzi Under The Radar For Selecting His Nephew Instead

The selection of Fawad Alam has seriously become a topic of discussion. The debate has been going on for the last couple of years now. At times, we believe that we won’t get to see that day perhaps. Out of favor, Fawad Alam gets dropped again putting Inzi on the radar for selecting his nephew. However, we fail to understand the reason. From the chief selector to the board, no one has really come up with a concrete answer.

The fans, experts, in fact, Fawad Alam himself needs that answer too. We fail to understand the reason why does he gets neglected every time. Fawad Alam has performed exceptionally well in the domestic season. Playing with an average of 50+, he has done an amazing job. He is also in a great shape, as recent news claimed that his fitness results were better than the current list of young lads.

Selection of Imam-ul-Haq

Imam-ul-Haq is part of the squad going for England tour. His selection has raised quite many questions from the fans and experts. When it comes to domestic performances, Fawad actually outcasted the young lad. Many top journalists called it a biased approach by Inzamam ul Haq. They believe his selection has only been made because of his relationship with the chief selector.

Even Dennis couldn’t stop twitting in support of Alam!

and many other top names too stood for Fawad Alam

Make sense, why do we need so many openers in one squad?

Not sure it has anything to do with Karachi …

Even the legendary Wasim Akram was surprised by this decision

Media Magik

Wasim Akram while speaking to media questioned the board for his non-selection. He believes it’s a good thing that the board is investing a lot on the younger lads. However, neglecting a senior player like Fawad Alam. whose performances in the domestic season is undeniable. Someone, who has been so consistent deserves a chance, that’s what these players work for throughout the season. To get a chance to play for the national side.

He deserves a chance and there is no doubt about it.

The selection came to surprise for many, everyone thought he would definitely get a chance after a brilliant run in his domestic season. Many experts believed that he was a perfect player for the middle order. After Younis and Misbah retired from international cricket, many experts questioned about the well-needed replacement. While we have Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq, the team needs more. Considering the numbers, Fawad Alam was the most prominent choice for many.

Fawad Alam on his non-selection

This is extremely sad to see with a player of his caliber

Age is just a number, we all have seen Misbah do wonders for Pakistan in test cricket

When it came to PSL, Mickey Arthur believed that he needs to be more aggressive.

Earlier when media question Arthur about Fawad Alam, he said he needs to be more aggressive and hit more boundaries. We won’t deny with Arthur here, as Alam’s style of game doesn’t suite the T20 format. However, it would be hard to say that it does not work with the test format. He defends well and he is someone who could stick to the wicket for hours allowing others to go after runs.

He is still hopeful and has sent full support for the squad.

We really hope that he gets a test call from the board. We are not saying Imam doesn’t deserve a chance. He too is a good player and may even perform well in the upcoming series. He was criticized earlier as well and went on scoring a century on his debut. The question is about Fawad Alam and the continuous ignorance by the selectors. Despite his brilliant run in domestic season for the last 3 or more years the guy simply gets dropped out. If there is some genuine reason behind it then the selectors should come out and give some sort of explanation.

If You Are Afraid Of Not Being Selected Then Don’t Enter The IPL Auction – Tymal Mills

There was a lot of debate on IPL auction system recently. The international fraternity questions whether its the most decent way of selecting players. The franchise owners bid for the players and the one with the highest bid takes away the players. People believe its a sign of disrespect for players. These guys work their way to the top and represent their national teams which are a great honor. Some of them related IPL auction with the old age systems of selling slaves.

New Zealand is the first country to raise their voice against the IPL auction system.

Heath Mills, chief executive of New Zealand players association earlier spoke to New Zealand Herald. He called the auction system undignified and cruel. It wasn’t Mills who raised his voice, ex-chief, Peter Clinton tweeted about the auction.

“The IPL Auction is such an undignified, cruel and unnecessary employment practice. Ridiculous that it exists today, belongs in the medieval ages.”

Though the board believes, IPL has helped cricket in a lot of ways but few things need to be changed. Mills also said:

“Some players do exceptionally well out of it but the vast majority would like to see the system changed. They would like to negotiate with coaches and owners behind closed doors.” source: ESPNCricinfo

Tymal Mills believes there is no point of feeling embarrassed

Tymal Mills spoke to ESPNCricinfo recently regarding the IPL auction. He believes that if someone feels humiliated or embarrassed for not getting selected then they should simply not enter the auction. Mills has played two seasons of PSL and have made quite an impression in the league as well. He rose to fame after his extraordinary performance in Big Bash.

He was one of the most wanted men in last year’s IPL auction.  He was sold for GBP 1.4 Million to Royal Challengers Banglore. Everybody wanted him but unfortunately, he was snubbed at this year’s IPL auction. After being one of the most important players last year, he will be sitting outside this year. However, he believes that’s how the league works.

There is no league in the world which offers this kind of money. All other leagues are capped, so they have limitations. While IPL gives you a chance to build a life out of yourself.

“It’s a little bit tough, but don’t put yourself in it if you’re scared of being humiliated or embarrassed,” Mills told ESPNcricinfo. “If you don’t get picked. It’s just the way it is. I’ve felt the good and the bad of the auction, I was obviously the belle of the ball last year and this year I wasn’t involved. That’s okay. We’re all big boys and we have got take the rough with the smooth.

The way forward …

He didn’t have quite a season this year with Big Bash or IPL, so the experts decided to not to pick him in the draft list. Mills said he understands how the system works and auction is the only way to bring that kind of money out. While, he is not going to be part of IPL or CPL, he will be playing for Sussex and focusing on regaining his form. This year hasn’t gone up to the expectations but he is taking one step at a time. He also said that it depends on the players what they do with that kind of money. He has invested his hard earned money well, getting a house and make some other smart investments to secure his future.

So what do you guys think? Whether the auction system should continue? Should PSL adapt the same system to get better players in the league?
