Earning a test cap is a dream of every young cricketer. Test cricket is the real test for any cricketer who wants to earn his place in the international arena. The national test cap is an honor for every cricketer and is a sign of utmost respect. Currently, Pakistan is playing against Ireland. This test marks the debut of the Irish team in test cricket. So far the Pakistani team has done a decent job under such rough weather conditions. They forced the Irish team for a follow-on after a great display of bowling. However, it was not the performance which caught the attention. It was the test kit which got the legend’s attention. Wasim Akram highlighted something which seemed pretty normal but carries a lot of weight. PCB to inquire the change in the test kit, however, we are yet to have an official statement from their side.
The test kit does not carry the green strips anymore, WHY?
Wasim tweeted a screenshot from the match and inquired PCB regarding the omission of green strips
Where is the green stripe gone from our sweater ? Not cool . pic.twitter.com/KLRFD39MqJ
— Wasim Akram (@wasimakramlive) May 12, 2018
To our surprise, PCB had no clue about the change in the kit
— PCB Official (@TheRealPCB) May 13, 2018
Now, this was quite a shock for all of us. The board should have an idea about the changes in the kit, after all, who get these things done if the board is unaware of such things.
The fans were angry on such a casual reply
and as usual, PCB was caught napping.
As usual, PCB is cought napping.. again…
— Muneeb Fidah (@muneebfidah) May 13, 2018
The green strips hold a very special value as the greats of the game have carried the colors on the field
The Great Imran Khan
The finest modern-day era batsman Pakistan has ever produced – Javed Miandad
The legendary ‘Zaheer Abbas’
The weapon of destruction, The two Ws.
Every legend has worn the green and yellow stripes with their white uniform. How can PCB miss that? Wasim Akram tweeted again regarding the matter.
Since tweeting this yesterday there has been a lot of enquiry in to where our green stripe has gone. I wanted to add that I’m all for modernising our uniform and I’m not blaming anyone for the change but many of us have played proudly with this kit, next time keep us in the loop! https://t.co/1nszH0yL8t
— Wasim Akram (@wasimakramlive) May 13, 2018
Wasim gently replied to his own tweet and it makes sense. There is nothing wrong with rebranding your uniform but something which holds such strong values in the history of the game should have been made after consulting with some senior players. The green is our national color and represents us as a country. Well, we hope that PCB comes up with a sensible reason for omitting the color from the test kit.
Kamran Akmal Was On The Receiving End Of All The Hate As Karius Cost Liverpool The UCL Title
The UEFA Champions League final was a night to remember and that too for many reasons. It was one of the most exciting matches and it did live up to the expectations. From the beginning of the match, there was so much going on the field. Liverpool thoroughly dominated the first 30 minutes of the game until this happened.
The rough tackle by Ramos not only put Salah out of the game, it took the game away from Liverpool
Madrid smoothly waved their way soon after that. They won the third consecutive UCL title beating Liverpool 3-1. There were some heroic performances from the players which mainly included the two goals from Bale. The Welsh player took the Reds by storm. However, it didn’t start with Bale’s epicness. There was one guy who was having a really bad day. It was Liverpool’s goalkeeper Karius who had a rough day at the office and it all started like this.
and got worst with this
While the Liverpool fans around the globe were cursing him, it reminded the Pakistani fans of someone very special.
Our very own ‘KAMRAN AKMAL’
We still haven’t forgotten this moment when he simply dropped the final in this year’s PSL.
this keeper did to liverpool in the final what kamran akmal did to peshawar zalmi.
— muzlim kid (@Abbasayy) May 26, 2018
Was it really him under some mask?
Kamran Akmal … is that you keeping for Liverpool? #UCLfinal

Thank you, Pakistan
Kamran Akmal just got FAMOUS
However, some thought Kami is better than Karius
Bhosdike Karius Kamran Akmal would have caught that
— Aakash (@PUNchayatii) May 26, 2018
after that loss, we can expect that!
Even Kamran Akmal is better Keeper than this shi** #UCLfinal
— Awais Gujjar (@AwaissGujjar) May 26, 2018
Liverpool fans left the stadium disappointed. Karius, on the other hand, kept lying on the field crying. He apologoized from all the fans about his mistakes and they had to lose the title because of him. It was a great gesture and a sign of a great player.
There is one thing for sure, Kamran Akmal would have never done that. We know how dheet these brothers are!

A true entertainer, fighter and the greatest proteas player we will ever see.
With over eight thousand test runs and nine thousand ODI runs, the guy ruled the arena like a gladiator. He fought and won the respect of his fans and adversaries. There are very few who have received so much love by every fan around the world. And like a great player, he just decided to call it a day. He is definitely leaving the game on the high but we would love to see him in the future. A player of his class has a lot to offer. We wish him the best for a happy future and thank him for his contribution to the game of cricket.
Out Of Favor Fawad Alam Gets Dropped Again Putting Inzi Under The Radar For Selecting His Nephew Instead
The selection of Fawad Alam has seriously become a topic of discussion. The debate has been going on for the last couple of years now. At times, we believe that we won’t get to see that day perhaps. Out of favor, Fawad Alam gets dropped again putting Inzi on the radar for selecting his nephew. However, we fail to understand the reason. From the chief selector to the board, no one has really come up with a concrete answer.
The fans, experts, in fact, Fawad Alam himself needs that answer too. We fail to understand the reason why does he gets neglected every time. Fawad Alam has performed exceptionally well in the domestic season. Playing with an average of 50+, he has done an amazing job. He is also in a great shape, as recent news claimed that his fitness results were better than the current list of young lads.
Selection of Imam-ul-Haq
Imam-ul-Haq is part of the squad going for England tour. His selection has raised quite many questions from the fans and experts. When it comes to domestic performances, Fawad actually outcasted the young lad. Many top journalists called it a biased approach by Inzamam ul Haq. They believe his selection has only been made because of his relationship with the chief selector.
Inzi once again showed his biased against Fawad Alam. Injustice anywhere is a threat to Judstice everywhere.
— Mazhar Abbas (@MazharAbbasGEO) April 15, 2018
Dear @InziTheLegend, putting the word 'legend' on your Twitter handle wouldn't make you a legend unless you start doing justice with your job. It is insane and unbelievable that Fawad Alam couldn't make it into a 16 member Test squad due to your illogical reasons.
— Wajahat Kazmi (@KazmiWajahat) April 15, 2018
Even Dennis couldn’t stop twitting in support of Alam!
Pakistan has a multitude of social issues and problems.
Cricket selectors not picking Fawad Alam is the biggest.
Best FC ave in the country. Fittest guy at camp. Works hard. Great guy. Fills a middle order leadership void.
What are you doing Inzi? Mickey Arthur?
— Dennis Sutherland-Peever (@DennisCricket_) April 15, 2018
and many other top names too stood for Fawad Alam
In Past we saw son of Chairman PCB selected in Pakistan team and now Chief Selector selecting his nephew one after other formats. Absolutely Strange and pure case of conflict of interest. Murder of Merit and height of Favoritism. Fawad Alam should be in the team for Eng tour.
— Abdul Ghaffar (@GhaffarDawnNews) April 15, 2018
Chief Selector Inzamamul Haq picked his own nephew in the team for the Ireland and UK tour
Chief Selector Inzamamul Haq didn't pick Fawad Alam – who has done brilliantly in domestic cricket for some time now
— omar r quraishi (@omar_quraishi) April 15, 2018
Make sense, why do we need so many openers in one squad?
Four openers, including Imam ul Haq, picked for the tour comprised of just three Tests. Usman Salahuddin, Haris Sohail preferred over Fawad Alam, fail to understand what wrong Fawad has done.
— Faizan Lakhani (@faizanlakhani) April 15, 2018
Everyone supporting Fawad Alam but unfortunately team management & selection committee do not respect left handed First Class performer’s consistent efforts.
— Syed Yahya Hussaini (@SYahyaHussaini) April 15, 2018
Not sure it has anything to do with Karachi …
Fawad Alam punished for being a Karachiite once again. Imam ul Haq scored only 1700 runs in First Class Cricket & his avg is 34.46. If we talk about Fawad Alam he scored 10 thousand plus runs with an avg of 55.37. Time for main stream media to highlight this favouritism in PCB. pic.twitter.com/vDQSrt8a3z
— Raza Mehdi (@SyedRezaMehdi) April 15, 2018
Even the legendary Wasim Akram was surprised by this decision
Wasim Akram while speaking to media questioned the board for his non-selection. He believes it’s a good thing that the board is investing a lot on the younger lads. However, neglecting a senior player like Fawad Alam. whose performances in the domestic season is undeniable. Someone, who has been so consistent deserves a chance, that’s what these players work for throughout the season. To get a chance to play for the national side.
He deserves a chance and there is no doubt about it.
Sad Fawad Alam dropped again. M. Hafeez sidelined & Wahab Riaz not in the fray. Team of compromises it comes out to be. Four openers one spinner & the one deserving missing out. That has been going on for long, this reflects all. I think we must stop wondering why it happens?
— Dr. Nauman Niaz (@DrNaumanNiaz) April 15, 2018
The selection came to surprise for many, everyone thought he would definitely get a chance after a brilliant run in his domestic season. Many experts believed that he was a perfect player for the middle order. After Younis and Misbah retired from international cricket, many experts questioned about the well-needed replacement. While we have Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq, the team needs more. Considering the numbers, Fawad Alam was the most prominent choice for many.
Fawad Alam on his non-selection
Fawad Alam last year "You shatter the confidence of players if you keep ignoring their performances. If you perform for your country and do well and then get dropped, well that is just confusing and demoralising" #Cricket
— Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) April 15, 2018
This is extremely sad to see with a player of his caliber
Fawad Alam "It seems other players runs in domestic cricket are of a greater importance & more relevant to selectors. Maybe my domestic runs are being scored in Bangladesh, Kenya or elsewhere & not in Pakistan, so that's why they are not important and are being ignored" #Cricket
— Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) April 15, 2018
Age is just a number, we all have seen Misbah do wonders for Pakistan in test cricket
Fawad Alam should have been in the squad for the England & Ireland tour. The Misbah experience has proved that age does not matter. Skill and fitness matter. His recent FC performance also proves that he is in form. This is sheer injustice.#FawadAlam
— Aizzan Malik (@AizzanKehtaHay) April 15, 2018
Misbah ul Haq was lucky, Seriously. Able to play and Captain despite late entry after so many performances #FawadAlam not. Could have been Same Story Either way.
— Abdul Ghaffar (@GhaffarDawnNews) April 15, 2018
When it came to PSL, Mickey Arthur believed that he needs to be more aggressive.
Earlier when media question Arthur about Fawad Alam, he said he needs to be more aggressive and hit more boundaries. We won’t deny with Arthur here, as Alam’s style of game doesn’t suite the T20 format. However, it would be hard to say that it does not work with the test format. He defends well and he is someone who could stick to the wicket for hours allowing others to go after runs.
He is still hopeful and has sent full support for the squad.
We really hope that he gets a test call from the board. We are not saying Imam doesn’t deserve a chance. He too is a good player and may even perform well in the upcoming series. He was criticized earlier as well and went on scoring a century on his debut. The question is about Fawad Alam and the continuous ignorance by the selectors. Despite his brilliant run in domestic season for the last 3 or more years the guy simply gets dropped out. If there is some genuine reason behind it then the selectors should come out and give some sort of explanation.
